I absolutely adore Jen Campbell & these were a delight to read especially accompanied by the beautiful illustrations.

Plus a hearing aid on a mermaid? I’m not even disabled but it made me so happy to see ☺️

Genuinely delightful (and creepy!) with wonderful illustrations on every single page. I've been on the waiting list for this from my library for a very long time, and now that I've read it, I'll have to purchase my own copy.

Well written fairy-tales from around the world.
These re-tellings have non of the mordan feel-good-and-ends-well-filter that many fary-tales have evolved into, instead it has diversity and good representation of many different kinds of people.
Only one story was creepy for me as a grown-up, but for a 10-12 year old I think they would be great Halloween material.

A nice twist on the fairy tales brining them back to their origins.
Told with a clear love of the stories, you can almost sense a wink in the eye of the author, as she revels in keeping us entertaint.
