The more I love a book the harder it is for me to write a proper review T-T

This book is just pure perfection! I hope it gets more hype cuz it totally deserve it. The author managed to keep me interested for 559 pages and this fact alone speaks volumes.

I was surprised at the beginning at how Kyran and Avi were actually rivals in every scene of the word. They fought all the time till the point it got physical and I really didn’t know how things between them are going to work, but Nyla K. actually managed to make it work flawlessly! The spicy scenes were hot af. All the tension and angst that has been building up paid off perfectly.

I loved Avi but Kyran has a special place in my heart. I loved it whenever this grumpy boy got shy or nervous, he’s so cute T^T When I started to know Kyran’s personality in the beginning of the book I actually didn’t like him; there was no way I would’ve expected that I’d swoon over him later as I got to know him better. And my heart totally got ripped out of my chest at how horrific and tragic Kyran’s past was. After the point of learnig about Kyran’s bast I couldn’t stop crying for the rest of the book, especially that “why god allow it to happen” speech from Avi made me bawl my eyes.

I’m glad at how things turned out at the end. I didn’t expect that Tom would get his redemption arc and I still hate him but I’m happy for Kyran.

”The evolution of Kyran Harbor is something I’ll always cherish, because I got to watch it happen before my eyes.”

I would like to preface this review by reminding everyone to please do some research on this novel — and ensure that you read up on all of its trigger warnings — before beginning it.

Being a responsible reader and protecting your mental health should always be a priority. ♡

ੈ✩‧₊˚

I want to start off by saying that while I enjoyed this book overall — there were a handful of things that happened within its 700+ pages that prevented me from giving it a higher rating.

There were moments throughout the novel where the story seemed to drag on…

I 100% understand that this novel revolves around the characters’ OF account — but towards the end of the story the smut scenes started feeling rather monotonous & I found myself skimming them.

A 700+ page contemporary novel is something that you don’t come across often and I do understand that this particular novel deals with some serious topics that needed time to be fleshed out, but there were moments that felt almost filler-esque (if that makes sense) — so I do believe that ”For the Fans” could’ve been trimmed down at least a little bit.

ੈ✩‧₊˚

I am also frustrated by the fact that there were some plot threads that weren’t really tied up by the end of the novel.

We never got a clear answer regarding who leaked the OF account to the Dean. It was suspected that it was Ash that did it — since his mother is the Dean — but it doesn’t seem as though he had that much of a motive (in my opinion)? I’m aware of the fact that Avi “rejected him” but Ash didn’t seem particularly vengeful about it? The whole situation just seems a bit strange…

It’s possible that certain plot threads were purposefully left unresolved (so that they can be revisited in the future — if other characters in this universe end up getting novels of their own) but if that is the case then I do wish that there would’ve been a blurb at the end of the novel mentioning that there are more stories to come (or something of that nature)…:/

ੈ✩‧₊˚

I am excited to see if we get more novels set in this universe in the future! I’m crossing my fingers for a Theo novel. ♡
