This story never gave me a good reason to empathize with Rocannon, so it felt like a slog to get through. I appreciate the world building and the writing is good, but the story felt like an example for high school lit classes to learn allegories, symbolism, archetypes, etc. It doesn't hold up in comparison to Le Guin's later fully-developed novels.
Graphic: Slavery and Xenophobia
Moderate: War
