It's post Civil War, and this married couple are sort of working up to bring in the husband's old Union Army "pal" as a third -- It's actually very sweet and they're all kind of wide eyed and guileless about it all.

This is a quiet, character driven novella about falling in love with more than one person. Well-written, but perhaps a little sparse for me, although that could be due to it's length more than the anything.
