Better than her first one but not my favorite. She struggles with body image and weight and it's sort of stressful to hear her talk about diets she will never do again and confidence for young women when she's clearly still so disordered in her thinking.Â
Minor: Body shaming, Death of parent, and Fatphobia

this book's simply an enjoyable, lighthearted, quick read, exactly as it should be. why not me? makes me smile and giggle bc mindy can always sneak in a few jokes on almost every pg; she's just funny. it might not have too much substance but it's entertaining enough. i particularly like the harvard law speech and her lil jabs @ white men thru the book. also, that obama staffer story got me on the edge of my seat like i was reading a romcom short story; a will-they-wont-they that beats many romcom books for sure.
Moderate: Toxic friendship, Body shaming, and Racism
Minor: Death of parent and Sexual content

I am happy to have read this book by Mindy Kaling. It was nice to have as a book that I could read throughout the month in a lazy way as each chapter was it’s own topic. I think it’s a great book for Mindy Kaling fans and/or those for looking for something lighter.Â
