This book was very evaluative and provided a lot of insight on US foreign policy. It has a big focus on the media aspect that sheds light on the world we live in and how the mass media operate to serve the state.

This book is great at showing that the US media is a well-oiled propaganda machine, but it doesn't sufficiently show how it works. The first chapter goes into the why and how, but the rest of the chapters, focused on real examples from the news, are mostly about news reports (what comes out) and not about news reporting (what goes on inside). I would have loved to see more of that, so that I can also consider how relevant these considerations are in the media of other countries - to me, most importantly, my own.
