I enjoyed most of this book but there were two moments where the plot just seemed chopped off and I felt a lot of things were left unsaid and skipped.
There were so many things about this book I loved but the choppy part that irritated me the most was very close to the ending and it kinda left me with less happy thoughts about this book than I had while I was reading it.

Couldn't find the audio version of this book so I had to actually read it (not that I have anything against actual reading, I enjoy it very much, this was just a series I had mainly been listening to). I'm a bit all over the place with my thoughts on this series. When I listened to the first one i didn't really get all that into it, but then my interest sort of build a bit with each book. Unfortunately then it start to slip a bit. I liked it a bit better than the last couple, but I still prefer the ones in which Anita is working to solve mysteries with the police and dealing with her ass of a boss while raising the dead. Number nine really stood out to me as what I thought would be a turning point of the books getting really good again, but I wasn't as impressed with 10. Lots of things happened in this book though, and I am curious to sleep with Hamilton will take the story next. I enjoyed the new character of Micah, but I'm not loving the direction in which things are going with Richard. Previously I had really liked him and now he's become downright annoying. Oddly, I hated Jean Claude at first, but now he's sort of my favorite. I do have a thing for vampires though, dates back to Angel I think...

"I'm cynical, not jaded."

I feel like this book was an apology for the last one. It had everyone who was missing in, all the way through (although I absolutely could have used more Jason, I know I know I’m asking for too much).

I’m kind of sad that Anita didn’t become a wereleopard after all, because I think she would have bossed the shit out of that but also I’m happy because I think it would have scared the shit out of her too. Anita has grew into a very different person since book one, good and bad, but I think book one Anita would have been horrified if she had become one. I feel like it’s more ‘on brand’, fitting for her not to. Still, she has the aura of the leopard and I think that’s a nice mix of old and new Anita.

This book has a LOT more spice in it.
