A fun dystopian zombie novella! I was a little disappointed in the ending but it was still a good closing.

Yet another twist on the zombie genre, ‘Where the Dead Go to Die’ focuses on a hospice where the living dead are taken care of until it’s their time to end their ‘existence’. I was all set to give this four stars, but thought what the hell. It is such a good story and so well written that I just had to give it that extra star in the hope that others would give it a try. Dries and Gunnells, both together and individually, are producing some great horror stories despite being very much under the radar.

This was a pretty interesting twist on the typical zombie story. It was terrifying and eerie. I felt gross after listening to this one. What an ending as well! A wild ride and definitely worth the read!

Started out good, the middle was good, the ending was way to abrupt. I think they had fleshed out the ending more and it would have been a 4 from me.

Ahh, the mixed emotions of cursing out the authors at the end of a book, wanting to stand up and applaud, and laughing because your body needs to respond somehow to the information given but nothing seems appropriate.
There are many social issues raised in this book which are all too common in todays world. If you change the disease in this book you could probably put “based on true events” on the cover, which is sad.

Where the Dead Go to Die is clever, unique, and heart-breaking.
It's a world with infected people who eventually turn into zombies. The virus takes 8 months to 15 months to turn you once you are infected. During the infection, you can spread the virus in just about every form possible to spread a virus. The world we get put into is a world where we have hospice set up for those infected. The hospice, of course, has protesters who think this is wrong and want things to go back to before where the infected were just killed.
This leads to the question of what you would do? Would you want your loved one and other people's loved ones to be cared for once infected? Or would you rather have your loved one killed as soon as they were infected?
This book hits a lot of points home about society and how things can change your point of view when a loved one is involved, whether good or bad.
I enjoyed this book overall. The only thing I found to be a little lack-luster was the ending. To me, it wasn't the strongest or most impactful of endings for this book.
