From a plot perspective, Star Wars: The Rise of Kylo Ren was interesting and did a decent job filling in some of the plot holes between The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker. I found The Rise of Kylo Ren really lacking on the character development side. We didn’t really get much behind why Ben turns to the dark side that wasn’t already given in The Rise of Skywalker. The Rise of Kylo Ren hints at the fact that Snoke had been talking to Ben since he was a kid but we don’t get anything about how that connection was formed or how Snoke knows the Knights of Ren. This is a volume that would've really benefitted from a bit more time to explore these questions and expand on some outstanding questions.
