I recommend the lais wholeheartedly, but this translation is a compromise (as any translation is). I’m glad it’s in prose and would choose it over forced rhyme translations. A good option for moving quickly through the stories but you will lose some of the simplicity and troubadour influence in the original verse this way. I would always recommend the Claire Waters side-by-side translation above any other choices.
Moderate: Confinement, Death, Infidelity, and Injury/Injury detail
Minor: Animal cruelty, Animal death, Sexual content, Suicidal thoughts, Toxic relationship, Grief, and Pregnancy
