Komi Can't Communicate continues to be an endearing look at a girl's attempts to make friends while overcoming her fear of communication. This volume delves further into some of the surrounding characters at Komi's school, some that I like and some that I find a bit annoying. Knowing that Komi is seeking to make 100 friends, I am sure there will be a great variety of people that she gets to know. Throughout it all, Komi continues to be an endearing presence and it's great to see how her friendship with Tadano continues to deepen.

Again, I really like Komi and Tadano. But I can't understand Najimi, who refuses to clarify their gender. And the humor does not land for me at all: a new character literally kidnaps Tadano and keeps him tied up all day, and there's no real consequence. The same character brings a chef's knife to school and threatens others with it before threatening suicide. These aren't funny jokes! It's like a horror manga but it's being played for laughs.
Moderate: Confinement, Suicidal thoughts, Kidnapping, Stalking, and Toxic friendship
