Fast paced, didn’t dally and got right to the good stuff. I like almost every guy except Faust and a little bit of Atlas as well. I’m excited for August thooooooo!!! Definitely reading the next book, hopefully it doesn’t get repetitive. Im excited for the path this story is taking, it’s giving major wattpad fanfic vibes and I LOVEEEEE ITTTTTT!!!

It’s been too long since I dove into a paranormal romance. Plussss, it’s why choose. Perfect Saturday reading!

Book one was a good start to the series and I am hoping for some serious character growth. I mean, the FMC better at least learn to fight.

The ending saved this story. I was struggling to finish this and found not connect with the characters but that cliffhanger was kind of everything ngl

Title: Noc City
Author: Penn Cassidy
Series: Noc City #1
Rating: ☆☆☆☆☆

Noc City is the second book I've read by Penn Cassidy and she's steadily becoming one of my favorite authors. I love the way she writes; her descriptions, the characters and storyline are all so enticing, it made it easy to get swept into the story quite quickly.

Vampires. Werewolves. Witches. Humans. Darklings. Oh my. Noc City is exactly that, a city that is considered a safe haven for the paranormal population. Each species are suppose to live in Noc City along side each other in harmony due to a coexist treaty but there are humans who look at the other species as savages, abominations and want to make the humans the more powerful species. Unrest and tension builds throughout the city as females from each faction of the paranormal population are being taken. Everyone knows that Ryan Harker, human senator that they believe is behind the kidnappings and  isn't who he portrays himself to be when he's in front of the camera. He hates everything thats not human so three vampires: Atlas, Faust, and Merrick decide they have to find out what's happening to the women that are being taken when Atlas's sister has been taken and will stop at nothing to find her. So they kidnap the senators daughter, Serenity, in hopes of getting vital information. But will they get the information they want and so desperately need? Will Serenity want to help them?

This book was action packed from the very beginning. There's 3 hot vampires and a badass fmc who has been dealt some s**t cards but seeing her finally fight back made me like her even more. Of course the book ended with quite a cliffhanger; one I didn't see coming. I can't get over how much I like the way Cassidy writes and the you can't help but become fully immersed in the characters and story. If I had to rate how much I recommend others to read this book it would be a 10/10.

In this world the supernatural community go by darklings and have been out to the world for about 70yrs. However, there's still racism where theyre concerned. Areas they're not accepted, areas just for them. Humans fighting against them, and for them.

Serenity is the daughter of senator Ryan Harker who is trying to get darklings banned from the local town. He presents a wholesome, loving image to the world. He's far from it. Behind closed doors, he's cruel, evil, and a nasty piece of work.

Since discovering he's not her father a year ago and that her mother had an affair with a vampire making her a dhampire, her life has been hell. Ryan has beaten her regularly, a real threat of rape daily, and she has a boyfriend who is like a copy version of him.

After a meal with the boyfriend and father takes a turn for the worse serenity runs and is intent on jumping off a bridge until she is caught and captured.

Her captors believe what the rest of the world does. That she's the "angel of noc city". And that she has info that they need or the senator will give them in return for her safety. Which she laughs at, knowing the truth.

She's held captive even after her captors learn the truth.... But she begins to recognise them and is shocked! But she's also given a different view of living. She's on blood for the first time and the difference is unreal.

But when they come back and tell her that her best friend, cousin and 100% human Trix has been kidnapped she panics. But then the place where she is is attacked, effectively demolishing the entire building and forcing her out of there. She makes a run for it but doesn't know where she is.....

Before she knows it she hears howling.... She faces 2 unfriendly wolves.... And the last thing she sees is one leaping towards her throat.....

Gah!!! Loved this book!!! I'm trying not to give away anything so haven't named any other characters or species apart from those last 2 wolves!!! I'm on to book 2 and its starting off just as good!
