Lysistrata is a pretty vulgar, comedic play on gender divisions and sex allowing for a more interesting critique of war. I was often disgusted, amused, confused, and caught off-guard in thoughtful moments. Lysistrata is an intriguing, self-confident, and ambitious protagonist that manages to be the sane master of the sex-hungry Greeks to bring peace to Hellas. This translation is interesting, bringing modern dialects and understandings into the ancient writing of Aristophanes. Overall, I enjoyed reading this play.

Hilarious and refreshingly empowering for an ancient greek text about women.
