A great introduction to the lasagna technique of gardening. The illustrations include lots of added humor.

A different take on Old MacDonald's farm - it's now a modern day organic farm! One smart little red hen helps Farmer MacDonald turn his backyard into a compost based organic farm. Cute rhyming story that will keep young readers attention. Good mentor text for sequencing.

Hilarious tale of how one red hen helped Old MacDonald turn his yard around his house into an organic farm. This is a book that begs the reader to slow down and really look at all the little elements of the illustrations, which add humor and depth to the story.

Cute and educational for kids, still keeps a bit of the original rhyme and all of the feel!

I think this was supposed to be a clever take on Old MacDonald but honestly it didn't do much for me.

What a cute book!!! My 3-year-old loved it and made us read it twice in one sitting. Each time, we spotted new things. He has a speech delay, but he would point and talk and get all excited! Great read aloud book!

I laughed out loud (as did my husband) at several of the little details included in the illustrations. This book would pair well with a unit on how things grow.

Good for garden and farm storytime. Don't love the rhyming, but the moral is great. Plus it's really funny.
