I didn't really enjoy this. It was hard to finish- the middle was bogged down with a lot of extraneous stuff. I will not be continuing the series.

Awesome book. It is adventurous and full of art. It had some plot twists and was mysterious. It was a little bit sad, though. If you like fantasy books, you'll love this one!

I think “The Hunger Games meets Harry Potter” is an accurate description.  I love the idea of art and creativity being magic. Read this one aloud to my 11 year old and I enjoyed it as much as they did I think. Bought the whole  series second-hand and we’re excited to see what happens next! (And I’d love to see some of the hybrid creatures in this story IRL)
