Carson Fender is an ordinary 13 year old and is the Schools very accomplished prankster. Carson is very fed up with his boring life with the same routine every day until he receives a box and is told not to open it. Everything begins to get exciting for Carson and very unusual things begin to happen to him and although he doesn't realise it, his friend Dillon is not far from the truth.
Codename Zero is a fantastically well written book with lots of action and mysteries which Carson has to deal with without anyone finding out. The book by Chris Ryland leaves you wanting more and wanting to find out what his next adventure will be and what mischief he will get up to.
Would definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes a book with a good twist and lots of excitement!

Where was the humor? We started out with the school's best prankster, but the guy who unleashed a herd of fainting goats on the school so he (and his friends) could glue classrooms and offices shut isn't the guy we get through the rest of the book - and that's not great. There were many times I was convinced that his caper was just some elaborate prank on him but, well, no. If only the book hadn't just missed with the mixture of humor to action...

A bit too predictable for my taste, but the short, action-packed chapters are sure to appeal to reluctant readers. Overall a fast and fun read. Perfect for fans of Stuart Gibbs and the Spy School series.

This is an amazing book. It made burst out laughing and also had me feeling like it was my life on the line instead of Carson's. I would recommend this book to anybody who liked suspense and comedy.

This book drew me in with just the title. I LOVE spy books, and this one was no exception. Carson was funny, but he wasn't the bestest friend, losing part of a star. The other part of the star was lost because some of the plot was a little predictable. I loved Dillion and Olek best because they were so dang funny. I can't wait to read book two from this series!

I actually liked this book a lot more than I thought I was going to! I'm pretty excited to read the rest of the series, especially since this book ends with a cliffhanger. Anyway, I feel a lot like the main character, Carson, does, living in a small, rural town. He feels like it's just some boring town with nothing going on, and he feels like he's going to be trapped there forever. Then, he discovers that there's a secret agent base operating under his town, and he is recruited by two teachers at his school for a mission. The characters made me laugh, especially Dillon and his theories, and how frustrated Gomez gets with Carson. All in all, it was a really good book, and the only reason I gave it four stars was that at the end Carson and Olek's process of getting in and out of the building was a little long.

Carson is a bored seventh grade student in small town North Dakota when he is suddenly swept up in a world of spies and espionage. One minute he is in the midst of an elaborate prank at school and the next a box is shoved into his hands with instructions not to open it no matter what. Of course he does and things go wrong and now Carson is is Agent Zero in a super secret government organization fighting bad guys and saving the world. Some nice twists at the end of the book and lots of action and adventure to keep one interested. A good fun read. MS Spies, Action, Adventure, Friendship
