Thrilling Saga

Oh, the difficulty in making a penultimate book engaging and intriguing... Thankfully, the author nailed this arc wonderfully. Cannot wait to read the Final Chapter!

I was happy to win a free copy of this book from Goodreads since I'd read the first one in the series and was wondering what happened...now I'm awaiting the 3rd which I hope will conclude the story. I like that the book is set in a more Eastern country and that the magic works in different ways than in many other books I've read.

The end alone made me glad I continued on with Bingmei's story!
Again, I really like the unique world Jeff Wheeler has created for the Grave Kingdom. The magic is unlike any other fantasy I've read before and so feel this is what has kept me so interested! The budding/sudden romance has honestly thrown me for a loop, I wish he wrote that better, but really doesn't take away from the overall story in any way! Very excited for the final novel!

I find the world very detailed, inviting, engaging, and detailed, I can taste the wind, see the trees, the buildings and the people. I can see how certain items are taken culturally from certain mythology. The negative is the unknown hand leading, guiding, causing that feeling of what to do without logic. The inherent nature of one person born with some historical past live experience help leading her. Kind of like Rand Al Thor was, except clearly in this case not the dragon, yet the Phoenix. The nature of evil being all consuming with no practicality and just petty bickering at times was more of a means of escape rather then logical.

I look forward to reading the next book.
