I've always struggled to articulate the conflicts I see between the world of my work in finance and the more than human world of nature. Adrienne Buller does such a fine job of putting into words that fundamental incompatibility between the capitalist drive toward endless growth and the continued well-being of the planet.

I highly recommend The Value of a Whale. I'd say it's reasonably accessible to anyone with an interest in economics and a willingness to look things up/check out cited sources as you go.
