As always: READ TW/CWs BEFORE READING.

So, hear me out, ok? I've had a thing for mermaids, mermen, sirens, and swimming creatures (not necessarily fish or sharks) since I was very young. No, my attraction to such creatures is not going away. Pretty much, this book was made for me. No, it's not actually written for me, but it hits. Now, if you're wondering, "Will a merman turn me on?" The answer is most unequivocally, yes he will. Ain't no shame baby.

I feel seen with how Allie is treated by people in previous relationships and how she feels. Is she a person with trauma? Yes, but she is such a strong individual, and she's tired of being walked all over and pushed around.

Calder... mmm, Calder. Yes, now he is delectable. I want one of my own. He's broody, grumpy, but he is also considerate, wants to be happy, and wants to please... even if that means not doing what his mom wants.

The relationship (before the real relationship) between Calder and Allie is in some ways akin to Beauty and the Beast. They're both awkward, kind of want to be left alone because people trying to run their lives, and to a degree unyielding. They were absolutely perfect together and made for each other.
