I really enjoyed this book; I liked the dark atmosphere, the innovative story (for the time), and Jane as a character who remains true to her values and her beliefs, even when it is difficult to do so, an admirable quality.
I was also surprised to discover that this is not only a love story, but also a compendium of Victorian literature with long descriptions, a dark atmosphere, and a hidden religious moral for the women of the time.
My favorite character in the book was Jane herself. She is a strong, independent, and intelligent woman who remains faithful to herself even when she faces massive hardships in her life. I also liked that she was so well characterized that I was able to feel all of her emotions during the course of the story.
My favorite scenes in the book are the encounters between Mr. Rochester and Jane in the park and their conversations. These scenes are full of tension and chemistry, and they really give you a sense of the connection between the two. They are full of passion, wit, and intelligence. The two characters have a deep connection, and their conversations are always engaging.
From this book, I learned that it is important to be true to yourself and to never give up on your dreams, and also that love can overcome all obstacles.
Overall, I highly recommend Jane Eyre. It is a beautifully written and thought-provoking novel that will stay with you long after you finish reading it.
I am no bird; and no net ensnares me: I am a free human being with an independent will.
Moderate: Child abuse
