Cute as hell, with a lot of cheeky references.

Jeffrey Brown has created a perfect representation of Gen X fatherhood through a series of cartoons about the unlikely pairing of Darth Vader and his four-year-old son, Luke Skywalker. Brown found the sweet spot by placing the characters in familiar Star Wars settings and applying lines of classic Vader dialogue to mundane parenting situations ("Perhaps I can find new ways to motivate you."). For his target audience (dads of small children who grew up on Star Wars), Brown's cartoons are right on. For everybody else, they're still really funny.

This might be the greatest book...no, the greatest THING in the universe! I needed a big dose of fun in my life, and Brown definitely delivered. It has enough cute to make me go "Awww!!!" but not so much that I start gagging. The Star Wars references will make fans smile, those two people unfamiliar with the series will also enjoy the sweet pictures and clever humor. I am definitely looking forward to the sequel.

Awwww... these two.

I've read this book after the Vader's Little Princess and liked it way more than that one. Darth Vader and Son is cuter, funnier and is just better in general. Art is the same, though.

Check it out if you like/love/adore/whatever Star Wars and want a quick read in-between some beasts-of-a-books.=)
