I love these characters. The plot is interesting, the twists and mysteries keep me engaged and the action adds some adventure and fun to the narrative but overall the character portraits and development, the relationship between these people, that's what makes this book what it is.

Following these four people who feel completely fleshed out, they live seperate lives from each other and even from the book itself, it truly feels like each of them were taken from our world and popped together in Coopers chase to see what trouble they'd get up to.

The vulnerability and struggle Ibrahim goes through in this story and the support and love of this friends.

The connection between Ron and the people he loves, his grandson bringing out the child in all of them.

The strength and independence of Elizabeth being broken down by finally realised she can depend on her friends. The stunningly, heartbreaking tender relationship between her and Steven.

Bogdan, everyone loves Bogdan. His friendship with Steven keeping him with us a little longer.

And of course Joyce. Always joyful, always underestimated and always up to mischief.

I love following these people as they go on the adventures of a lifetime, teaching us that no matter how old you get, you always have more to learn, more to do and more to love.

Funny, exciting, and captivating mystery. A sequel that is just as good if not better than the first novel!

The first one was so good I didn’t know if it was possible to follow it up with a book equally as good but this was even better. Never gobbled up a 400+ paged book so fast! Utterly addictive and the mystery itself was even more clever than last time. It had me laughing out loud every other page  and the lovely ending made me cry at 4am with joy.

I’m really loving this series. Took me a little while to remember the characters as I’ve read a few books since the last book. But I really liked how the story carried on, and that Donna, Chris and Bogden will a part of the story. I also really hope that Donna and Bogden end up together on the next book. The fact that there were a couple of twists and that Joyce solved some things herself made things interesting. I also liked the ending, it felt right.

Love to have my first book of the year be one where I'm spending more time with the residents of Cooper's Chase.

Loved this as much as the first one. Straight on to number 3! Murder, drugs, lots of alcohol, but still ok for mature teens.
