Audiobook

I've heard a lot of praise about this book, so I went in hoping for something good, but also slightly nervous of it being all hype no delivery. I wasn't disappointed...loved it!

It's a fast-paced jump into dysfunctional family dynamics; a younger sister who is killing off her partners, and an older sister who feels she must help with the clean-up.

Highly recommend the audiobook; Weruche Opia was a fantastic narrator

I liked this book because it was interesting. I can't necessarily say I liked it because I enjoyed it from a typical perspective. To me, it left me with a feeling that you get when you read a book for a literature class that is actually captivating and not trite like the old European books they force onto you as classics. It's interesting and thought provoking, bringing up many thoughts and inquires about family, love, and the relationship between sisters. I'm glad I read it from a perspective of feeling changed and having a broader sense of the world after reading it. But again I can't say enjoyed it. I'm not sure what that means lol but those are my honest thoughts.

A great, quick read for those interested in solving mysteries or delving into complicated family relationships.
I love that this was not in America or Europe, but in Africa, as the author really delves into her roots and culture.
The main character was incredibly rounded as she deals with the conflict of wanting to protect her sister, who is an extreme narcissist and serial killer, and also wanting her sister to face the music.
It definitely did not end the way I thought it would, which was super refreshing!

Enjoyable shorter read that pulled me in from start to finish. I like that it was told largely through little vingetes from the sister Korede's first-person point of view. I liked the sprinkling of reveals throughout that flip your assumptions at every turn. The ending moved it from a decent 4 to solid 4.5 stars for me.

The audio narration by Adepero Oduye was brilliant and helped me better connect with the setting and culture of the characters.
