Thought provoking and really creepy. Sudden blindness, and the effects on society are powerful and awful.

This took me forever to get through. I think, ultimately, I enjoyed the stories and the characters, and yet...I have no desire to read the second one. The style - with almost no punctuation made it so difficult to get through - though I think I would have liked it better had I been able to devote a large chunk of time to it.

This book was tough to slog through. The extremely long sentences drove me batty (I had to put my editor skills on hold while reading this puppy). I also didn't like how the characters didn't have names, but there was something mentioned in the book like blind people don't need names, which I thought was rather sad. It was a very interesting take on what would happen during a pandemic. Sad to say, I can totally see all of that happening. Primal instincts kick in and it's survival of the fittest. I would have put it down after 50 pages but it is a library discussion book so I pushed myself to finish. There will be some interesting things to discuss about this book.

Growing up is realizing that the boring school book you never read because it was sooo boring is not boring at all and is actually really good. I wonder what else I missed when I was a dumb lad.
