Dnf about 75% through. The book was basically one big monsters attack after monster with no explanation or reason. The characters were all nothing special and there were so many flashbacks and dreams it was hard to keep track.

I really enjoyed this graphic novel which focuses on four girls living in Cleveland on their paper rounds.

Sounds pretty normal and straightforward, doesn't it?

Well, that's about as normal as it gets because we're quickly introduced to werewolves, aliens who dress like ninjas, people decked in armour using pterodactyls as their mode of transport, and a terrifying creature known as the 'Editrix' (a huge lime green ball full of tentacles and red eyes on its body).

The artwork is fabulous, really clean with painstaking attention to detail, and the colouring is beautifully authentic, evoking the era in which Paper Girls is set (late 80s).

For me though, what stood out the most, was the dialogue, which, at times, was pee my pants funny (apologies for that unsavoury image). I absolutely LOVED Mackenzie, some of the things she came out with had me in stitches!

This is the first graphic novel I have read by Vaughan and I am delighted to have stumbled across this book in my local bookstore. (I am ashamed to say that the cover did persuade me to buy it but I'm very glad that I did).

I have to say, the plot is a little "out there" and I do have my reservations for how the story will continue, and eventually, end, since it's a bit all over the place. But for now, I am content with accompanying the four girls on what I hope will be one unforgettable adventure!

This was so hilarious and different. I didn't know what to expect with this one, but it was good. I'm so intrigued to see what happens in the next volume.
