First of all let me just say Whoa, thats a satisfactory sequel, well done!!! Second thing, how DARE you, Adalyn Grace!!!! I was not ready for the heartbreak!!!! All in all I think it ended well, I'm not mad, even if I'm a little mad ;)

I enjoyed this story. I listened to the audio book, so I hope the actual book has a map or something of the islands.

Ahem...that ending...excuse me...?!

This duology is so good!! I love the characters so much and I’m so glad that we got to explore the magic system and the world more! I just loved it so much that I don’t have any other words!!

Also that half a star missing from my rating will probably be added back when I’m less salty about that ending. But for now I will be petty. Thank you, now read this series!

Libby audio. Unfortunately, I had listened to Fable between the first and second book in this series and Fable is better. But I liked how this book ended.

Good Lord, why did this take me so long to read?! It might have something to do with the fact that I couldn’t really vibe with the story like I did with the first one, but I did genuinely think that if I pushed through with it I would be able to push through to the end.

Which I did, because Mama didn’t raise a quitter, but oh boy sometimes I wish she had!

I did not enjoy this as much as the first book, and I am pretty glad that it is just a duology. But to be fair, you could have taken the last third of this book, tacked it on to the end of the first one and you’d have a pretty solid standalone story. The first two thirds felt like you weren’t getting anywhere with the plot and then suddenly you had plot being shoved down your throat. Which is not the best reader experience to be having.

I also didn’t really vibe with Amora in this one either. I get that she’s dealing with grief and the fact that she’s now the queen and the fact that her soul has been split in half, but I just couldn’t bring myself to feel any sympathy for her at all.
