At first I thought the cover was really pretty but then the more I looked at it/the more I read the actual book the more it all made me want to puke :/ sooooo boring and annoying

I read this back when I was first questioning my sexuality a couple years ago, and it was just as beautiful and amazing to me then as it is now. I think I even cried more when I read it recently, actually. It’s so good to be able to see good lesbian and queer representation in fiction. I love this book.

I got nothing with this book. The conflict on grieving for a significant loss is not the problem of the story, but it is poorly, poorly executed even in the first 100 pages. I guess the language had to be aligned with the age of the character but I find it troublesome to connect and even keep up. I don't know. Did not finished this one.

This was a heavy subject but was written in a way that it was honestly just boring. I didn’t feel connected to any of the characters at all.

Deals with grief and the aftermath of death really well. The emotion is there, I just felt it was a little slow going.

Jess struggles with anger management in coping with her father's death, which only compounds with the loss of her love, Vivi. Really loved the nuances and mess involved in the depiction of grief. Love is complicated, and so is mourning the inexplicable loss of those you love. None of the characters are perfect (although Cheyanne was a little bit too stereotypical for me personally) and it makes the story feel more relatable and real as they try to figure it out.
