I so love H.P. Lovecraft Historical Society’s Dark Adventure Radio Theatre. Their productions of Lovecraft’s works is truly worth listening too.

From hero to zero in one chapter and back again.

v creepy moments, beautiful descriptions of the vermont wilderness, brain in vat concept which would go on to become iconic (reproduced a bunch of times over), the way the mi go harrassed and hounded atley with their human allies, the progression of their attacks on the house etc etc was very unsettling. The feeling of helplessness as we read these progressively frantic correspondences is very effective. I think I lost a little steam toward the end but the abyss realms the mi go are from were very fascinating to hear about and the pluto connection at the end was fun. crabs are creepy. Its so interesting how the Mi Go refer to and praise the outer gods, I would love for that connection to be strengthened here as I think LC is at his most effective in his shadowy suggestions toward the cosmic whereas this mostly stayed in the realm of sci fi and not as much occult, but the references were enough to pique my interest and wonder at what Nyarlathotep is doing in this context or the goatman,,, anyway good story

The first of his tales to really spook me.
