Disappointed, I expected a profound and impactful autobiography. However, as a woman with clinical depression(and self-respect), I really don’t have the patience for the protagonist. I’m not finding any sympathy for him; it feels like he’s creating his own problems and not doing anything to fix them. All while being insanely misogynistic.

I now know I’m not supposed to have enjoyed the book.

the writing just comes off as insanely pretentious, and i couldn't relate to the main character in any aspect. i KNOW that he's supposed to be unlikeable or whatever, but it was physically painful to read. i need to stop trying to read books written by males.
