For better or for worse, I can count on being utterly charmed by every one of Renae Kaye's characters. Though this one is not a particular favourite, I still enjoyed it.

A deftly woven comic tale, that is pacy and funny. Renae Kaye is proving to be one of my favourite authors.
Shawn and Harley take turns telling their story but their names on each chapter keep the pov straight. Shawn's chapters are told in a much put upon present tense whereas Harley's are in the style of a much loved reminiscence. The story is told contiguously and these two styles do work together.
Each chapter also has a quirky sub heading. Lots of slapstick type humour, though Shawn's Mum's declining health is moving, as well as setting up some of the more comic episodes. Though she is heartbreakingly good when Shawn has a big accident and reverts to her mum self.
Loved it, will read again and the last chapter - oh so short but very funny

A book that made you laugh but also could make you cry. Living with someone that has Alzheimer's is not easy and Shawn must have had the patience of a saint. Glad that he found someone who could love him as he was. Great story

A strange book written as if the two protagonists wrote their story down after the fact. Written in two points of view. I feel a bit ambivalent about it. And the characters where a bit odd.

Poor Shawn suffers from an extreme case of Murphy's Law. Whatever can go wrong, will! He takes being accident-prone to a new level, is on first name basis with all the nurses and EMTs, the auto club knows him personally, and his family keeps their first aid skills up to date! So of course the first time he meets the man of his dreams he has just fallen.
Harley is absolutely perfect! So patient and loving. If I were him, I would have run for the hills! I loved this book. It was funny, hot and sweet.

This was so much fun! The characters were very unique and endearing. If you're trying a Renae Kaye for the first time, let this be your first experience.
