this is such a solid mystery! the pace was a bit slow at times, but the actual story itself was great. the characters were interesting and the mystery really kept me invested. i will be reading more from Hannah in the future!

It’s an okay book. The overall premise of the mystery hooked me from  the jump and then it was all down hill from there.

The main character was unrealistic and unsubtle in so many ways. The progression of
her developing suspicions to her basically stalking every other character was 0 to 100% in 30 seconds
and it makes no sense. you could chalk this up to writing style, but I’ve never disliked a character so much before. I don’t think I was ever rooting for her as a singular character, except maybe at the very beginning. Even by chapter 2 I was hoping she failed in her endeavors and would never get her answers.

Whatever you think is happening in the book, I can almost guarantee it’s more interesting than what’s actually happening.

Repetitive. My lort, so repetitive.

This could have been so much better. All of the building blocks were there to make this a phenomenal thriller - instead, it was 200 pages of useless dribble leading up to a less than climactic twist and a sub par ending.

Zannah is a champ. We love Zannah.
And Tilly.

I went into this really hoping for some weird, Sci-fi esque story about clones and ended up with a pretty upsetting (and not in a good way) domestic abuse story. Ugh.

Bored white soccer mom being a little too nosy. If you like constant repetition, mediocre writing, and a very slow almost glacial pace for 85% of the book and then the speed of a rocket launch at the end, you might like this book.

Characters were dull. Not the author's fault, but I found the main character's "I don't get what's happening with the youth these days" attitude to be annoying to read about. The mystery was drip-fed and then answered all at once. I didn't find any of it unexpected and found the twists to be more like roadblocks delaying me from getting to the end of the story.
Lewis was so unbearable from the beginning that I couldn't understand why anyone ever thought he was good?
