I get the sense that this series doesn't really know what genre it wants to fit into, but hey, with all that happened with this one it doesn't really matter. While Bloodfire was your fairly typical shifter book, and Bloodmagic being very filler-like, Bloodrage has Mack in a school setting (but really in the most, bare minimum, fill the time kind of way) to uphold her end of a bargain to getting her friend out of a statis spell.
I enjoyed it much more though because of the strength of its secondary characters. They helped with the previously very confused worldbuilding, and it was interesting to see the complexities of the different species (races?) relationships with each other. The much stronger characterizations meant that I didn't even mind the minimal Corrigan screen time. Unfortunately, I'm confused by the decision to kill off Brock and Thomas, because by the time they're actually well rounded characters, they're already gone. You'd think that Mack, having already gone through the death of her father figure, would've had enough grief to handle. It also resulted in a weird tonal shift, when previously the story had been very silly for the most part.

Best One Yet
Good book. I laughed and I cried. Best one yet. The ending was interesting and sad but also freaking cool as Mack is powerful and we don’t know much about her.

I love Mack! I felt so bad for her in this book. She experiences growth, and a lot of sad things happen near the end, along with some personal revelations about what she is, exactly. I'm assuming book four will reveal more about the Draco Wyr, and Mack will continue to grow and change. 5 stars.

It's actually a really good book and series but the authors love of using the F word gets a bit much after awhile and cost the book a star. The narrator isn't too bad but has a bit of an accent and uses character voices that ruin it but I've put up with worse I suppose

While still interesting. we seem to be having lots of possible male leads which just makes you want to say please just pick one and be done. I think this maybe the best book let showed a lot interesting thinks about the mages and the school that most go to. It was nice to see are female lead grow a little in her character.
