odysseus is an adulterer for most of this book and kills a bunch of men who try and commit adultery with his wife and he expects his wife to remain faithful bc double standards in ancient greek culture. he really isn't as intelligent and heroic as he seems. he really thought approaching a bunch of girls whilst he's naked and begging them was a good idea it's really not babes
