This had alot of things going for it that I wanted to like: body confidence, size positivity, diverse characters and author. But... there was alot going on that bothered me but I couldn't put my finger on it until reading other reviews. And it's Cassie's exploitation throughout the whole book. You could say that she eventually comes into her own and it's good that she learned her worth, I guess; but... we're supposed to be rooting for this guy? Reid, who unknowingly or not gets all of the good jobs, literally objectifies her (taking photos of her), when all she wanted was to pursue her profession of photography. And her friend, who says 'oh, I can't model so the only available person is the photographer'? What kind of friend is that- she knows how important it is to Cassie to be the photographer and art director, and, hello- does she realize how hard it is out there for plus-sized models to get jobs? Like, they are out there and they would have jumped at the chance- but instead, she coerces her friend into being the model and losing her professional dream chance, gives an opportunity to the white guy, and basically takes away any potential opportunity for a capable plus-sized model out there who actually had experience. It just felt... off to me. The bedroom scenes sizzled, for sure, and I appreciated the characters calling out things like slut-shaming or microaggressions (without calling them that). But... I just didn't really want her to get back with Reid at the end. He messed up- and for... what, exactly? Why did he need to buy a house for his brother? That whole thing was unclear and kind of weird. I think I just wanted a different tone.

Buxom Boudoir and their employees are fun to read about. Reid and Cassies story came quite quickly though. I felt as if there wasn’t a lot of suspense. Sometimes it was written greatly, sometimes not so much

This book was actually really boring. Over explaining, slow paced, long chapters. Just everything I usually hate in a book. This one was no different. Every single time I thought I was going to start enjoying it, it went back to being boring and predictable.
