The more I think on this, I liked the origin story for Cruella but I think the think I disliked about this book was that, opposed to the others in the series, it was written in first person which I was not a fan of this time around. I also felt it was disconnected to the others which is good for an origin story but, compared to the others in the series, I was expecting more of a connection and overlap than there was. I cannot sympathise with Cruella as she was raised very selfish and it, to be truly honest, frustrated me and the first person narrative just heightened my dislike for her as a character. Still a fast paced and engaging read though.
