This is a sweet love story and I liked the way the author portraid thauma influencing our decisions and how we percive ourselfes. However, I felt like it got going on circles on the midle part and when they finally got onto a relashionship it was like they've just flipped a switch from never dated to 5-years-hapily-married. It felt rushed and badly proporcioned.

Super sweet love story. I'm a sucker for a man with a kid so I was in love with Carter from the beginning. Reed is the one with some issues and he is also the stronger of the two in my opinion. He knew when it was time to put his foot down and he was right! I also really liked that Reed and Jackson have a lot in common and Jackson will be able to turn to him for help. In the end this story was sweet and sexy with a perfect ending.

The narration was really good. New to me narrator but I will look for more.

A very emotional book. I would highly recommend it if you are looking for a story of awakening, of emotional discovery, of growth and self improvement. The underlying concept of this book is very well summarised in this thought of Reed: "He thought when he'd fall in love it would be soft and sweet, a coming together of two people who'd discovered each other. Instead it had proven to be messy and difficult, full of tears and hurt, of longing and thwarted desires." (I gave 5 stars eventhough some chapters could have been a little bit shorter, it sometimes sounded like too much repetition of the same issues and concerns)

The Arrangement is a long novella but doesn't read like a novella, which is a compliment. I've read several books by the is author and this has some of my favorite writing from her. She does a good job with the emotional content, and describing the various problems the characters have, mental and physical. The chemistry between Reed and Carter is hot, if a little insta-lusty. Carter wasn't always an easy character to like, but in the end Stevens makes us believe that he's ready for love. A few things lowered my grade just a little: I'm not a fan of public sex and find it awkward instead of sexy, and the story got a little cheesy at the end. The latter is a problem I've had with the other books I've read by her as well. Still, both of these things are fairly minor, and I overall really enjoyed the book and the characters.

I think this might be one of my favorite Felice Steven's books- I loved the build up of the relationship between Carter and Reed. It was something both wanted but it was also something both didn't need or that's what they kept "telling" themselves. This book was emotional in good ways and bad, and when Reed talks with his dad, I was gutted. It was a very powerful relationship between a father and son, and very well written. I think Ms. Stevens handled the emotional reality of anxiety and ADHD really well. Not everything can be handled with a pill but some things need a pill and more. Both Reed and Carter learned and used that in this book.
The push and pull between Reed and Carter made this a great read. Besides the two having some sweet romantic times they certainly had some smoking hot sexy times too.

DNF

DNF @ 73% This book is so BORING!! I started this yesterday and kept falling asleep during the first couple chapters but I thought it was because I was on super duper pain killers (fuck you sciatic nerve). However, it turns out it’s just the book because I’m dozing off without them too.

What a stupid plot too. Carter takes care of his brother with special needs 24/7 but once a month gets a hotel for the weekend and meets a random guy to fuck. Reed works at the bar Carter goes to this time and they hook up. It’s supposed to be a one time thing but they make it a monthly arrangement. Hence the title of this book. They never talk about anything personal but Reed starts to want more after about 6 months of hooking up.

I never felt any chemistry between Carter and Reed. Carter is a dick most of this book and not in a hot way. The sex scenes were bland for a book about hooking up monthly and when Carter finally lets Reed see who he really is, we don’t get Carter’s words, just a summary of what he said through Reed. What? Show me the grovel! That’s when I quit.

Also, it appears I own this. I hope and pray it was a freebie because it’s the worst. My choices have been awful lately so I picked at random in my kindle. If this is what’s awaiting me there…

I really enjoyed this book! I'm a relatively new fan of Felice Stevens, but the writing as amazing so far!

This one in particular was such a good book that shed light on harder topics like anxiety and ADHD and it was just an overall lovely book
