I looked at this book several times before I decided to read it. A renaissance fair? Mmm, nah. But I’m so glad I gave it a chance. It was funny, it was well written and I really enjoyed it.

This was a fun read with a really sexy “fake pirate”, just the perfect read to end summer.
I highly recommend the audiobook.

Cute lighthearted romance novel. It was entertaining, but could have gone deeper on emotional issues. Emily is staying with her sister to help out while her sister recovers from a car accident. Emily signs up to participate in the Renaissance fair, so her niece can participate. And meets Simon the grouchy fair director. They flirt and get together as you'd expect. It's predictable, but fun and was just the kind of book I was in the mood for.

Okay I think the book was good.I liked it but not as every one else.

I wasn't enjoying the setting in the beginning but then when they started viewing the shows,I liked it and that increased as the the story went so this was a hit for me.

I liked some of the romantic moments especially between the pirate and the wench.I liked the wooing part as well^^.

I loved considerate Mitch so much and really wished he was more involved from the beginning. I loved both sides of this character.

I liked the sisters' relationship as well as the small bits of Emily and Cait.I liked the friendship with Stacey as well and really wanted more of it.

All of the above was good for me .Let's move tothe bad:
-The physical descriptions of Mitch made me cringe .I know the guy was hot and all that but we didn't need pages of that.

-Simon was painted as this person with bad everything in the beginning then just in a second he was converted.
SpoilerThe beginning of this romance didn't convince me at all
.Also he seemed to be acting bad just for being bad.

-Something that annoyed me a ton was talking about everything (including the kilt and knowing they were her teachers) next to the little girl. This was just a big no for me.

-Emily was dumb many times that didn't get with her actual character
Spoilernot thinking of Sean being dead (really!!)-- When Simon was very anxious when she told him Chris was going( again Really, the guy's whole life was the faire.

-Also some of the romance didn't make sense for me or in other words were too much.
SpoilerEmily feeling safe,in peace and protected when she held hands with a guy she was actually hating. -- The fighting scene was a mixed bag as well ,Okay he was .... because of his priorities but when you love someone and always say you don't want to hurt them ,You wouldn't just say your brother is dead and he won't come back. That wasn't normal especially that she wasn't that angry at this point yet.
.Also the coming back together didn't convince me .It was cute but just that. Not even a good apology.
