Fantastic, fast paced conclusion

I needed this book so very much after how All the Lies left off... This one picks right back up where that one left off.

Just as Reina thinks she is finally getting what she wants, Asher throws her another curve ball. Does he want her? Or does he still want revenge? Or both? Definitely both.

This book is full of mystery and redemption. As more and more of Reina’s memories return, more pieces of the puzzle are filling together. But the truth can be scary, too.

⭐️4 It felt so good to come back to Rina-verse and saw some familiar faces in her previous book (like hell I twisted like a worm in bed when Aiden made his appearance and I thought about those mafia guys back in Jonathan’s book when Alex said he sent someone trustworthy to protect Rai). However this duopoly does feel quite fast paced and a couple scenes were kinda rushed. Like how easily Reina became friends with Naomi who definitely hated Reina to the deepest part of her soul according to the dares Reina (actually Arianna) pulled on her. I understood that Izzy was a nice lady but it surprised me that she just handed out the flash driving with all the truths so easily without any triggering event. I felt like the thing pulled by Arianna was the major obstacle between Asher and Reina, and I expected a more dramatic revelation instead of simply laying out the truth. Overall I enjoyed this duopoly but I don’t think it could beat Royal Elite Series

So good, like lets talk about how good this book was. Perfect second half to a duet. It ties up all the questions the reader has, it keeps you guessing, and it makes you want more. Asher is a bit of an overbearing jerk, but I mean, it's Rina Kent, which of her heroes isn't a major jerkwad? The characters are very well developed, as is the plot and the world in which the characters live.
The overall being of this book, it reads like a thriller, with some sexy times thrown in, so if you are down for some whodunit, and thriller type vibes, this will be the book for you. Like I said there is nothing left undone by this book, the author does a great job of not leaving you hanging, like some. The peek very briefly of other characters from books past gave me a cheap thrill, I won't mention who, but yeah if you have read Ms. Kent's books you will know right away. Always a good time reading Ms. Kent's books, I will make sure to always look for her when I am wanting dark and depraved. Told in dual pov.

Couldn't connect with this story, how can the hero call the heroine "my ugly monster"? It's so anti climatic and the whole "prom queen" is awful too. Didn't like this duet, only read it because I'm following the reading order.
