Estou marcando apenas esse, o compilado de quadrinhos mais recentes de Sandman, mas reli a série inteira. Foi uma obra bem marcante para mim há uns 15 anos e, nesse novo contato, conseguiu manter boa parte daquela admiração adolescente. É não só o melhor quadrinho que já li, mas uma das obras que, como um todo, mais me encantaram ao longo da vida. Difícil ser mais objetivo do que isso em uma obra de arte que faz parte de quem somos como essa faz de mim. O primeiro volume (Preludes & Nocturnes) e o penúltimo (the kindly ones), são os mais fracos, mas mesmo isso é relativo, a série é impressionante como um todo.

Stand-in for the whole series. A fever dream in the most beautiful way. Gaiman is purely spitting raw emotion and ideas onto the page in a messy, convoluted, yet calculated way. Can’t recommend enough.

Utterly gorgeous art. Good, but not great, story. Extras that are worth reading for those interested in a glimpse behind the curtain to how comics are put together by the art and lettering team.
