Yet another middle grade series I'm going to have to keep up with! It was so cute and lovely but not too childish. I'm really getting a lot out of November's children's literature month :)

I wanted to love this book and assumed a would, but there just wasn't enough there, and then it ended. I didn't like it nearly well enough to read the next book so I was just left feeling disappointed at the end of this one. This should have been a one-of book and Wood should have just brought the story to completion. This book could have been so good, instead it was lackluster at best.

4.5 Stars. Really liked this one. The language was really enjoyable and funny to me as an adult, but I wonder if younger readers will get bogged down by it. The party scene had me chuckling out loud. The main character is earnest, kind, optimistic, and and very likable.

Sets up a mystery, to be resolved in subsequent books, so be prepared for that cliffhanger. No answers as of yet!
