One of my favorite manhua of all time. I loved the representation of queer women in this story. It is so, so hard to find good books and comics that center around a WLW couple. As a sapphic, I really enjoyed how the women weren't fetishized or objectified in any way. It was just pure joy seeing these two girls interact and develop feelings for each other. A very wholesome, feel-good story, but it does get a little serious later on. However, the commentary on how society fails to protect women in cases like sexual assault and harassment were very impactful and really resonated with me.
Also, I found it important to keep in mind that the story takes place in China and has a cast of Chinese characters. The overall attitude towards the LGBTQ+ community would differ greatly because of cultural differences. It's just something I keep in mind whenever I read books from different countries, how attitudes and perspectives on different subject matters won't generally be the same as countries in the west. I am Chinese-American, and with what little queer representation I see here in America, it made me really happy to see queer people from the same culture as me represented so well. Sadly, because of censorship laws in China, the story has yet to continue. I really miss it T-T.
