Really really enjoyed this even with the sadness of the main theme!

Lovely story of multiple kinds of love.
Beautifully written and emotional.
I'd say, go into this one as blind as possible (but check tw)

"This is what I never knew about loss—it’s also about what you gain. You carry a weight that you never had before. It’s never behind you. It’s alongside you."

I loved this story. Heart-wrenching, funny, poignant, and desperately sad. I cried multiple times and thoroughly highlighted passages. The characters felt so textured and the emotions they felt and reactions they had seemed realistic and meaningful. I loved all the scenes with the core friend group—their friendship felt so real and their dynamic so lived-in. I definitely want to read more from this author.

Read if you like emotional, funny, poignant stories about love and friendship and growing up in adulthood.

The tagline on this book is SO misleading. It is not a romance between two friends, it has a romantic subplot but it’s about grief and forgiveness and untangling a mess between a group of friends. It was good but not what I expected.

This book had me laughing aloud, snapping my fingers in agreement, audibly gasping, and highlighting or underlining takeaway quotes. I went into this with an idea of what to expect, and was pleasantly surprised this book had much deeper themes to it than what can be assumed at first glance. Justin was my favorite character, I could always count on him for a laugh. I loved Eve's character development and
her standing up for herself when the moment she dreamed of finally happened - Ed saying he loved her - and instead of reciprocating, she called him out on his behavior!!
thought this book was a good balance of humor alongside grief, and vice versa. I knocked it .50 cause I felt the references to different movies and pop culture were too much at times and didn't make sense since no one was a media critic or in the media world for that matter to know all those things, and the last 50 pages felt rushed yet the ending was drawn out, if that makes sense. Otherwise, I think this book is a keeper and would read again or recommend.
