THE CHARACTERS WERE SO STUPID LMFAOAAOAOA why r u going to SUCH a great length to get a scholarship or something like. no girl do NOT tell ur friend to bash ur skull in with a log so that she can seem like a hero for saving you and not look boring anymore to the rest of your small town? this was a literal PAIN to read but so funny to look back on

This book was decent, but it dragged on a bit.
I liked the story...two teenage girls faking the disappearance of one of them. The narrator, Finn, really grabs at the readers heartstrings and you really relate to her and start to really despise the other girl, Chloe (the girl who has supposedly been abducted).
If the book was a bit shorter I think I would have enjoyed it more. But by the end I was really frustrated with the decisions the girls were making because they were just plain stupid. And, in turn, that made the adults around them seem stupid too.
Fans of realistic fiction/adventure stories will pick this up and enjoy it. I would recommend it as a read alike to Whatever Happened to Cass McBride (Giles) and even to Stolen (Christopher).

This was a really creative book about how a desperate idea came to be and how they got in wayyy to deep. This book kept me guessing and it amazed me what some people would do for attention. Ifelt bad for Finn and wondered how she actually felt about chloe, but i think she made the right dcision in the end

Read this for Student Bookgroup, and I am not a fan. Neither were most of the students, although it did lead to a great discussion.

This is a suspenseful yet simple young adult novel that keeps you on the edge the entire time. Chloe and Finn are best girlfriends in a very small, rural town. They are good high school students, and nothing dramatic ever happens to them. Until they realize that they may never get in to a good university unless something dramatic does happen to them. Which is when they decide to stage Chloe's kidnapping. Finn will end up finding Chloe, safe and sound, and they will both have a killer admissions essay. However, things are not as easy as they seem. Because Chloe and Finn's lives are not the only ones to change because of their scheme. Corrigan leaves you conflicted about who to like and who to trust until the very end of the book. Written from Finn's perspective, the book is not extremely detailed in the mystery or legal sense (think: NOT Jodi Piccoult), but it is truly worth its twist at the end. I would recommend to any young adult.

I thought this book was interesting. Not necessarily believable, but I don't think the author intended it to be. Finn and Chloe, two friends in a small New Jersey town try to pull-off a kidnapping ruse to help boost their popularity to get into a good college. While the town continues to look for the missing Chloe, Finn has to pretend that she is the grieving best friend. They were planning this ruse for weeks; however, they did not plan for what would actually happen. Or did they?

I got this book the month it came out! I felt so lucky to be the first in my school to read it. I liked the book even. I had never even thought of a situation like that and liked the idea because that's what drew me in. Although the book did seem to drag on forever it was an okay ending if you're willing to wait through a bunch of pages of the same thing.
