Историята ми потръгна бавно и първите сто страници се чудех дали ще стигна до края. Опознаването на героите беше много разтеглено и в началото ми досади. Финалният обрат ме откърти и заслужи 4тата ⭐️.
На пръв поглед банален сюжет - Кейт, Дженифър, Роуън и Изи са приятелки от студентските години и заедно със семейства си се събират да отпразнуват своята 40 годишнина в луксозна вила във Франция, в рамките на една седмица. Още в самото начало Кейт разбира, че съпругът и изневерява с някоя от трите и приятелки. И започва една напрегната игра на коя би могла да е. Малко по малко се ракзриват тайни и подробностите от живота на четирите, които заплитаха историята с всяка следваща страница и ми доставиха истинско удоволствие.
Темата за родителството, възпитанието и на какво са способни майките и бащите, за да защитят децата си заема голяма част от темите, с които автора ни предизвиква. На моменти истински се шокирах

New to me author and what a gripping story! I really liked this book, enjoyed everything from the writing style that made me read and realised when I was more than half way through that I needed a break to gutter my thoughts on what I was reading and envisioned, to the characters that are so reliable and felt real, each one of them with their own insecurities, thoughts and past or present drama /angst. There are a few twists and made me realised how much they were necessary for the story. Who wouldn't be jealous or loose their beliefs in their other half when there are so many reasons to believe the worst of it. That twists at the end was unexpected for me and I was all along wandering what happens next and what the author has in his sleeves for us

Wow! I absolutely loved this book. It keeps you guessing from the beginning and was not expecting that ending at all. I definitely recommend this book! Thank you St. Martin's Press and for giving me the chance to read this ARC for my honest review!
