This was a good addition to the House of Night series. Fun as usual, though I found lots of the characters grating on my nerves. I found I could ignore that better in previous books but it was more in-your-face in this one. Still a good read, but I feel like the series is really going on and on and on...

I thought this series was ending with this book. Apparently that is not the case. I do, however, think that this will be the last one that I read. They have been getting worse and worse as the series went on and this was just awful. I will expand my thoughts on this book, including the others in the series, in a longer blog post that I will eventually link to this one.

I have some issues with this book. Bias aside considering PC is my favorite author, I seriously don't like the continuous usage of the R word as an insult, and the short bus jokes.

As an author who makes it her intent to include a diverse cast, she should not have included scenes that were demeaning and discriminatory.

Not only did she include those scenes and derogatory phrases, but she then presented a character who was disabled and tried to (in my opinion) use that to balance the negativity in the beginning. Then the character was miraculously fixed and given an amazing gift. Of course, the horrible jokes began again, and Neferet (evil character so maybe it's not really that bad but still frustrating) called this blind turned seeing character "broken".

I love this series and I love PC but I just can't get past the horrible way disabilities were presented in this book. Especially when all of the other books are so diverse and inclusive in a great way.

I was 17 when I read this series the last time, so my views have obviously changed from then, but this has always been an issue for me for book 9.

They're getting so silly and predictiable and it almost seems like the same basic story line over.and.over.and.over.and.over. I wonder how long the Cast women can drag this series out. However, it's like a bad soap opera...you just GOTTA KNOW what happens next.
