Ich habe einen Namen: Eine Geschichte über Macht, Sexualität und Selbstbestimmung by Chanel Miller

I actually love memoirs, autobiographies, essays - you name it. But this is definitely one of the best memoirs I have read so far in my life. I will recommend it to everyone, girl or boy, everyone should read this. The book was so intense, that I completely immersed myself in it - I felt like I knew Emily Doe (and no, this doesn't happen every time I read a book or a memoir); I had nightmares about it, even though the harsh truth, feelings, experiences described (which were beautifully narrated) weren't my experience.

Wow, this was so well-written and left me in tears multiple times. I can’t imagine the weight Chanel has felt as the almost spokesperson for SA survivors, but I’m glad she has become that voice. Thank you for sharing your story with the world.

This is a very important read, and I’m not going to do a star rating since it’s a memoir based on a traumatic event. Thank you, Chanel for sharing your story with the world.

Oh boy. She said so much of what I’ve felt through the years about assault and guilt and the ramifications on loved ones when one is violated. This book is beautiful, ugly, infuriating, and hopeful all throughout.
