I wish I had known going into this book that it was a

cancer/loss of a friend

story; obviously, that part is left out of the back-cover description. It was a good book and I did really enjoy it, but it hit too close to home when the true point of the book was revealed.

Read this quickly over a weekend after picking it up off the shelf at our bnb. I thought I would love this book based on the back description but it ended up being completely different than I thought. I liked the creativity of how the present became the future but it didn’t satisfy me or really sadden me mostly because I didn’t care for the characters. They spoke very awkwardly and not like real people and the prose of the sentences likely contributed to that.
