Huh. So that’s what Greendale is about? Love Neil Young, love Cliff Chiang. The story is a bit of a mess, but it’s beautiful and interesting. A cool companion to the album.

What a fascinating companion piece to Neil Young's album (which I listened to for the first time while I read this).

It's an interesting tale of environmentalism and activism and spirituality. With an engaging story and great art.

Recommended.

I have no idea what I just read. I remember liking the Greendale concept album more than most reviewers but I dont remember it focusing on the mysticism and a Stephen King devil substitute Randall Flagg ripoff. Very strange

Although I'm a Neil Young fan I am unfamiliar with the Greendale CD and movie so I can't comment on how this fits in with those. As a stand-alone it is an interesting story - enough so that I am surprised the series hasn't continued yet. What appeals to me most is that this seems like a set-up for female super-heroes of a sort - ones with strength, courage, dignity, morality, intelligence - who can do battle with evil in a full set of clothes.

I really enjoyed this book. I'm a huge fan of magical realism and family dynamics. This book has both. I'm hoping that there are further stories concerning the Green family.

Strange mix of anti war activism and supernatural behind the scenes stuff. Not very interesting, and kind of blah.
