This book didn't quite grip me as deeply, as I just felt Alex was a bit too capable compared to her friends and other students who are literally from Medora and have had years on Alex to develop skills she's had a year. Other than that I still very much enjoyed the adventure, and the compassion and love between characters... I actually didn't think the novel's would get quite so dark... I was led into a false sense of security with this one. (Review just after I finished reading Graevale
