Not my favorite collection of Mary Oliver's work...can't place my finger in why. It felt, maybe, more didactic? Or maybe I'm just in the wrong mood.

Most of the poems in this collection use imagery from nature and wildlife. Some of the topics are life and our perception of it, imagination, beauty and death. Most of the poems were not that interesting to me, but there were some beautiful fragments that stuck with me. Here is one of them:
"There are so many stories,
more beautiful than answers."

The symbolism of light is found a-plenty in this fine collection of poems.
